Project Description:
For this school project, I was tasked with creating a cohesive set of collateral for a concert promotion campaign consisting of a bus shelter poster, a square poster, and a billboard. I opted to center my project around one of my favorite indie/alternative artists, WILLOW.
Designs and Decisions:
I made specific design choices in order to ensure WILLOW remained the focus of the campaign. I decided on a very bold, eye-catching font for her name, and included various images of the artist in different poses to emphasize her presence. In terms of color, I utilized a vibrant orange that was used in the name and only the most important pieces of concert information to establish hierarchy. To ensure maximum information retention, I organized the concert details in a way that is both visually exciting and easily remembered.
Result:
The outcome of this project was a bold and visually captivating campaign that truly embodied WILLOW’s unique style. It was a fun challenge to apply the same information to three different layouts, especially when working around the positioning of the artist images. In addition, I gained a deeper understanding of paragraph styles within Adobe InDesign, which has proved to be invaluable for future projects.
